With friends we went golf just below Lago Maggiore. We had a nice new Hotel Cortese, Armeno IT, in the middle of 4 golf courses: Bogogno, Castelconturbia, Des Iles Borromees, Alpino Di Stresa.
Although the water was cool in the pool some of us did manage to swim some rounds.
This time we didn't play Castelconturbia but spent some time in the nice holiday village Stresa directly at the lake. We played 2 times the nearby Alpino Di Stresa , one time nice but quite hilly Des Iles Borromees in the middle of a forest (Andri did like this one the best).
The last day before going back to Zurich we planned to play in Bogogno the second 18 holes (Del Conte)... but before that we had to wait almost 3 hours as a tournament was going on. And for this time they just closed the second 18 holes and we had to wait. Not even the lady could change this rule calling the ranger for us. So we changed in the nice locker (yes the first time I was more impressed, but it is still the best locker I have ever seen) and did practice at the driving range. Then we had a nice lunch, Ju did chose the wonderful Italian buffet.
And then we could start 1410 for our round (at least half an hour before us was nobody on the course). The picture of the greens surrounded by buckers or in the middle of trees are like a dream. I love this golf club. Last time we played the other 18 holes with just some up, down or up/down holes. So although the suggested again the other one we played this time the main course (also the one the play normally the tournament maybe because the 18th green is just in front of the big terrace. Hopefully next time we can play this course without a cart (50 EUR). So plan this course not on a travel day and enjoy it!
